Pizza Joint Fail

There is a little delivery/carry-out pizza place near my house called Marco's. It's a chain. You might have one of these in your neighborhood too. The pizza is really good and they are a nice bunch of folks over there. We go there pretty often - especially now that I am knee-deep into a kitchen remodeling project. (That's a story for another time.)

I was at Marco's to pick up an order this past weekend. I got there a little too early so I killed some time checking out the decor in the place. There's an LCD TV on the wall that usually is tuned to ESPN. There are two small tables you can sit at while waiting for your pizza, a candy machine in case you are too hungry to wait for your food to be prepared and a large cooler containing two-liter sized bottles of various kinds of soft drinks. The walls are pretty sparse, but there is one area covered with a collage of newspaper articles, photos and glowing reviews submitted by local patrons. Here's what that looks like...

Since I had a few minutes before my pizza would be ready, I read some of the items posted on the wall there. I had to read one of them twice. I was sure I had misread it somehow - but no - I didn't. Read the first paragraph carefully...

Tell it like it is, Michael C! There's no denying the veracity of your statement there my man! But I'll bet you say that about every pizza you eat, huh?

Now - since I have had some fun at Marco's expense, I'll give them a free plug here. Check out this web site. If there's a Marco's near you somewhere, give them a try. It'll be some of the pizza you ever had - I promise.
